Nominee Services:
ENERGY is a young professionals group who created the "Request the ENERGY" program where any non profit member of the Chamber can request volunteers for their fundraising event. ENERGY is committed to helping three organizations a month through this program to help give back to the wonderful community that we live in.
Nominee Goals:
The ENERGY committee's mission is three fold: Business Development, Education, and Community Service. One of our main focus areas is giving back to the community and helping to make it a priority for young professionals across the Hudson Valley. By promoting the "Request the ENERGY" program and actively increasing our volunteer pool of young professionals, we are not only able to help many non profits in the area, but help raise awareness on the importance of service for the community.
Nominee Impact:
The ENERGY committee and the extended group of dedicated volunteers have given back to many community service organizations across Dutchess county. Through volunteer efforts, they have been able to help and support The Michael Oremus Foundation, Pitch for Kids, Half Moon Theatre, The DCRCOC Workforce Development Families (through the Adopt A Family program), CAPE's Marathon Project, The Air National Guard, The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The Alzheimer's Association. They are also committed to a number of events in the upcoming months including The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, United Way's Touch A Truck event, The Children's Museum family BBQ, Vassar Warner Home's Casino Night, DC Tourism's Bike New York event, and DCSPCA Golf Tournament.
Why the Nominee Deserves this award?
ENERGY as a group embodies the idea of service. With one of their key focus areas prioritizing community service and the importance of giving back, they are not only able to set an example for other professionals and the community alike, but their dedication to the community and drive to make it a better place by assisting organizations that strive to do the same thing is unending.
