  Nominee Services:
 As the leader of the Mid-Hudson affiliate Linda has been active in the greater Poughkeepsie area, advocating for youngsters in school. Created the Rose is a Rose program for fifth grade girls; Brother to Brother for secondary male students; tutoring ; etiquette program for middle school and high school students to prepare them for proper grooming as they transition into society.
  Nominee Goals:
 To enhance educational achievement, behavior modification, social action, community service, and child advocacy. The goals were reached by enlisting the backing of the national organization, and reaching out to the network of professional educators Linda has worked with during her 25 year career as an Administrator in the Poughkeepsie City School System. Linda has always enlisted the support of parents, making sure they realize they are their children's first and most important teacher.
  Nominee Impact:
 Linda has had a strong impact on the youth of Dutchess County through the years by her insistence on every young person striving to achieve at their highest possible level. She sets a high standard for all children she comes in contact with. She has made a difference by lifting young people to new heights of educational success and making them productive citizens in society. One can see the impact Linda has made on her students in Southern Dutchess County by the way she is welcomed wherever she travels or shops in our area.
  Why the Nominee Deserves this award?
 Linda deserves the Spirit of Dutchess County Award because she has sought success for the young residents of our County ever since she moved here in 1972. She has always been an active member of the educational community, serving on the Dutchess Community College Foundation Board, and being a role model for young educators hoping to advance themselves within our local school districts. Linda has also volunteered within our church community to prepare youngsters for state testing which affects how they progress through our public education systems.
